Apostle Prof. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo, a living man of God in contemporary Christian world was born by Obaapanin Akosua Amoanimaah, a woman who protected her virginity until she was given into marriage to Opanin Yaw Safo. The mother was a native of Tweapease, a village in the Amansie Central District of Ashanti Region. His father comes from Assumenya in the Amansie East District also in Ashanti Region. Opanin Yaw Safo, a farmer and carpenter, met Obaapanin Akosua amoanimaah at Bom where they married. Bom was a village near Kensere in the Amansie East District of Ashanti Region where Apostle Pro. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo was born on 26th August, 1948.
He was the sixth of the seven children of his parents. Before his birth and after were two males but all of them died. Therefore, when he was born, he was named Kwadwo Donkor because in Akan traditions and beliefs, names are sometimes given in respect of an event. However, his father name him Safo which was his own name. One mystery about his birth which surprised his parents was a sign of rainbow which encircled him. His deceased sister, Amma Animah disclosed that:
“Anybody who wanted to take little Safo bowed to him else you couldn’t take him. This mystery and his behavioural attitude made his parents dislike him. They got the belief that the boy was child from one of the gods. They once took him to a riverside and made some pacifications for the gods to take him back.”

“CONSTRUCTION CONSTRUCTION CONSTRUCTION CONSTRUCTION CONSTRUCTION”
It is unfortunate his parents did not live long to witness the miraculous power of God working through their son. Apostle Prof. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo, a tall, copper coloured and handsome boy was sent to Bom Methodist Primary School when he was two and half years because of his height. One strange thing about this Great Man of God was how his parents forgot and left him at school one day.
According to her deceased sister Amma Animah, this unbelievable story happened during the Jacobu war which happened in 1950. She said during the heat of the war, news went out that, the war would escalate to all the surrounding villages around Jacobu. Bom was about ten kilometers from Jacobu. This news brought panic and fear to the inhabitants of the villages and they fled out to take refuge at a safer place. The parents of Apostle Prof. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo in their attempt to run for their lives forgot their son. This is one aspect of war which no one should wish for his or her country. It tears country apart. After they were out of the village, Amma Animah asked her parents where Safo was? When they realized the unfortunate mistake, none of them was willing to risk his or her life to bring little Safo. According to Animah, she voluntered herself and went to the village alone. When she reached the village, the atmosphere was like a cemetary.
“I didn’t see any one in the village but was not afraid. I went to the school and to my astonishment, all the teachers and the pupils had run out of the place. I went to his classroom and lo and behold was my brother sitting there alone. I took and carried him as fast as I could to my parents.”
Madam Amma Animah said that; Apostle Pro. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo was very obedient to his parents and was serviceable and hardworking boy. He would fetch water from the Sunyam river at Kensere and always go to farm during the weekends. At school, he was intelligent and was very skilful in crafts making. He could use bamboo to make toy cars, aeroplanes, trucks, etc. All the people in the village and his school mates admired his dexterity in crafts making. It was no wonder some accused him of wizardry.
When he completed elementary school at Bom, he went and stayed with his sister at Essankwanta a village not far from Kensere. After some few years with his sister, he realized that his parents could not support him to further his education because of financial problems. He therefore travelled to Kumasi to seek employment.
At Kumasi, life became unbearable but as if it was a divine intervention, a Frenchman called Cshornez discovered him wandering on the streets and had pity on him. He took him to his house and taught him his trade, Welding. He sent him to do a course in welding at the Ghana Technical Works in Kumasi.
After completing the course, he sent him to continue his education at Italy. When he returned to Ghana, he was employed at Kaiser Engineers at Tema as a senior welder. That was the career of Apostle Prof Emeritus Kwadwo Safo who later left his vocation at Kaiser Engineers to start his ministry.
